This blog besides from lots of special things, has also offered me the experience of crossfit. Crossfit is a new philosophy of sports by Reebok, that tends to make you stronger physically and mentally using a combination of different kinds of athletic exercises.
So yesterday evening, I went to YA restaurant for a try out. First, Nina Romano, head of brand marketing of Reebok, spoke to us about crossfit’s campaign, which begun back in Febraury and its going globally. Then, the guys of the Greek Reebok crossfit team explained how this kind of sport works. You don’t have to be an athlete to do it. You only need to work out 20 minutes per day on your W.O.D.(workout of the day). It consists of a variety of exercises and it makes your body stronger and your mind work faster. It also needs high intensity and functional movements. You work as a team with others and the best team that finishes up its W.O.D is the winner of the day.
Then, they showed us a little bit of their everyday training. Abdominal exercises, weightlifting, jump rope, rowing (only you’re not in the water), lifting Russian kettle bells (every girl in the UK owns one, I was told).
Afterwards, it was our turn to try crossfit. So Maddie and I jumped into a Reebok and got ready for our own W.O.D. We just did 5 minutes of rowing, abdominal exercises and box jumps with the help of our trainers of course.
Even though, I am aware of the fact that tomorrow my whole body will be aching, I enjoyed this new experience. I’m sorry if I have confused you with the terminology, but I am a newborn crossfitter and just beginning to understand it myself!
Oh, and please do not laugh with the photos. I was trying hard to work out!!!!!
